10. Romain Thomas

Roman Thomas is a French professional footballer who plays as a defender for the Ligue 2 club Caen. He is one of the top slowest footballers in FIFA 22 with a pace of 35. He was a well known former player of Angers from 2013 to 2022 where he scored 20 goals in a total of 289 appearances for the club. Thomas’s slow speed can be justified as he is 34 years old and pace and stamina fade with age. 

9. Federico Fazio

Surprisingly, the Argentine footballer has been named as one of slowest players in FIFA 22 with a pace of 35. The 35 years old Argentine plays as a central defender for Italian club Salernitana. He began his career with Ferro Carril Oeste in 2007 while spending most of his time with Sevilla. Fazio scored 12 goals in a total of 148 appearances for the club. In addition, the Argentine defender has also played for the clubs like Roma, and Tottenham Hotspur. 

8. Guillermo Maripan

Here comes another South American footballer who made it to the list of slowest players in FIFA 22. Guillermo Alfonso Maripan Loaysa is a Chilean professional footballer who plays as a central defender for the Ligue 1 club Monaco as well as the Chile National Team. Maripan has become the eight slowest player with a speed of 34. Yet he is not the real topper of this list as you will find him later.

7. Yunis Abdelhamid

The French professional footballer is ranked fourth in the list with the pace of 33. Yunis Abdelhamid plays as a defender and captains the Ligue 1 club Reims as well as the Morocco National Team. Yunis holds dual nationalities – French and Moroccan. The 1.9m tall footballer usually has height advantage over the opponent attacker. 6. Vicente Iborra

With a pace of 33, Vicente Iborra has become the sixth slowest player ever in the FIFA 22. Iborra is a Spanish professional footballer who plays as a defensive midfielder for Levante UD on loan from Villarreal CF. He had played a total of 12 seasons for the Spanish League La Liga. The 35 years old footballer has previously played for the clubs including Levante B, Levante, Sevilla, Leicester City, Villarreal, etc. Though Vincent is short of speed, he has won UEFA Europa league, Copa del Rey, UEFA Super Cup, etc with Sevilla. 

5. James Tomkins

The English Professional footballer James Oliver Tomkins ranks fifth as the slowest footballer with a pace of 33. Born on March 29, 1989, Tomkins is an English footballer who plays as a centre back for Premier League club Crystal palace which is not so popular. Despite his name being listed as one of the slowest players, Tomkins once qualified to the Under-21 team and represented Great Britain at the 2012 London Olympics. His speed might not be a subject to attention but his height surely benefits him in game grabbing everyone’s attention.

4. Gustavo Cabral

Unbelievably, another Argentine enters the list of the slowest players in FIFA 22. Gustavo Cabral is an Argentine professional footballer who plays as a centre back for the Liga MX club Pachuca. He is an unpopular south american guy whose age is 37 while height is 1.84 m. The Pachuca player began his career with Racing club in 2003 where he played for four years scoring only 3 goals in a total of 112 appearances for the club. Gustavo has also received Liga MX All-Star of 2022 award. 

3. Jannik Vestergaard

The Leicester City player is the third slowest player in FIFA 22 with a pace of 32 only. Jannik Vestergaard is a Danish professional footballer who plays as a centre back for the Premier League club Leicester City as well as the Denmark National Team. It rarely happens that Danish players come into the spotlight this way but Jannik is more of a player who played for German and English clubs. 1.99 m tall, Jennik has played for Southampton, Borussia Monchengladbach, Werder Bremen, etc in his past. 

2. Dante

Brazilian players are known for their consecutive five victories in the World Cup and yet, the well known Dante has made it to the list of slowest players in FIFA 22 with a pace of 32 only. Dante, whose full name is Dante Bonfim Costa Santos plays as a central defender and captains French club Nice. Though Dante’s speed is low, he is very much capable of playing other positions including defensive midfielder and left back. The popularly known Brazilian has previously played for clubs like Bayern Munich Borussia Monchengladbach, VFL Wolfsburg, etc. 

1. Jose Fonte

The player everyone is waiting for is here, Jose Fonte. Jose Fonte has topped the list of slowest players in FIFA 22 with a pace of 32 only making him the slowest player in FIFA 22. Fonte is a Portuguese professional footballer who plays as a centre back for Ligue 1 club Lille as well as the Portugal National Team. The 38 years old player has played for several clubs in his career of over 30 years such as Crystal palace, Southampton, Benfica, West Ham United and many more.
